New Eastern Counties web site

ECRU_logo_Counties_Feb_2014 MEDIUM It’s fair to say that Eastern Counties Rugby’s internet presence has been a low-key one at best.  Although it has had a website for the past ten years, first of all using the RFU’s RugbyFirst system and latterly a bespoke site, the information available was not often up-to-date and finding information was not easy.

The Marketing & Communications committee has had an overhaul with new members and new ideas, and a new web site was launched to coincide with the Annual Dinner and AGM.  Eastern Counties is now using Pitchero, which is becoming a industry standard for sports clubs, with a number of people able to enter information but under the overall management of Russ Clarke with help from Lisa Greetham.  Although it is still work in progress it should be easier for club committee members and players to find what they want.  There will be a separate site for the representative sides of Eastern Counties which should be up and running by the beginning of next season.

As part of the communications strategy a new Official Facebook page has been launched at www.facebook.com/ECRURugby which is linked to the website and the Twitter feed @ECRURUGBY is also integrated with the site.  You will see that the ECRU logo has had a refresh with the three constituent counties of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk being incorporated into the border.
