Rugby Photo Gallery

undefinedI have been visiting clubs around Eastern Counties since I became Chair of Community Rugby in 2004 and since 2008 I have taken a camera with me and taken pictures of games I have watched.

Over the past four years I have amassed an archive of over 15,000 pictures featuring league matches from Level 3 down to local Merit Tables in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk, adult and youth Cup games, and County games. I have taken photographs at local, national and international sevens tournaments, at Beach Rugby Festivals, Youth Festivals and Fun days. There are pictures from almost all of England’s Six Nations and Autumn International games since 2008, plus photos from my trips to watch the Lions in South Africa, the Saxons in the USA and England Counties in Uganda.

undefinedI have always made these photos available to everyone via a Kodak Gallery website, but when this was closed down last year and the files transferred to Shutterfly I took the opportunity to put them in some sort of logical order. I have created pages for:

  • Eastern Counties; which includes county games, then there is a section for each Eastern Counties club
  • Internationals; starting with England teams then a section for other international sides
  • Tournaments; including Sevens, Tens, Beach Rugby and fifteen-a-side competitions
  • Other; for anything else, e.g. Rugby League, dinners, clubhouse openings, fun days, etc

undefined (1)You are welcome to copy and paste any of the photographs on my site; all I ask is that if you use them on another website or in a publication you give me a small acknowledgement.

You can also link your club’s page to your club’s website.  To get to any club’s page go to the Eastern Counties page, scroll down to the club you want and click on the club name.  You will then see all the albums for that club.  Just copy and paste the web address into your website.

Finally, you can add your own comments to the albums or individual pictures and feedback through the guestbook would be welcome.

Many thanks Andrew – a very useful resource, piece of social history and trip down memory way all in one!
